Spiderman 2 - Enter: Electro

Spider-Man 2 Enter: Electro is an action/platformer where you are trying to figure Eletro's evil plans while fighting criminals in New York city streets and, of course, roofs.

With 4 levels of difficulty to choose before starting the adventure, the game goes through 24 different stages in which the mechanics are different enough to don't make it repetitive. There are 32 comics to collect that you'll find under things like a trash can or in the top of a building, etc, giving you a reason to explore the levels in more depth.

Enemies are rather aggressive with our hero making it in some cases just better to go stealth and avoid big groups of them. The enemies vary a bit, going from gangsters to flying bots and even revived samurais with electrical swords.


At the end of every phase of the game you will fight a main boss, like the Shocker, Sandman, the Lizard and many others. The way to defeat each of this bosses vary from one to another and don't expect to win in your first attempt, some of them can be really challenging.

Spidy counts with webswinging, special attacks, including a variety of attacks using his webbing and a voice acting with plenty of humor. There are 18 unlockable suits, each of them with different abilities, like unlimited webbing or enhanced strength, also they look really cool. Overall you can do what spider-man can and that's awesome.

Something worth it to be mentioned is that the camera is pretty bad. Most of the time it will be not pointing in the direction that you would like to, making some fights just guessing if you are hitting in the right direction or not. Another side effect of this is that sometimes the controls won't react as you would expect, for instance you would try to move up while climbing a wall, but pushing the analog stick in that direction will make Spider-Man move in the completely opposite direction.

Overall it is a fun game, worth it to spend some hours if you can deal with the camera issues. It can be found in ebay for around 10$ - 20$ making it pretty affordable and a nice add to any PSX collection.
